Nearly 9 in every 10 women are misinformed
Nearly 9 in every 10 women are misinformed about the greatest threat to their lives. And that should get all of our attention. A 2003 American Heart Association survey found that only 13% of women in America recognize heart disease and stroke as the greatest health threats to women. Most women and men believe a woman’s greatest threat is cancer. The fact is, in 2001 coronary heart disease ( CHD ) claimed the lives of 498,863 women while all forms of cancer combined claimed 266,693 women’s lives.
